WWAD: What Would America Do?

http://bit.ly/1FlO4u6

Happy April!! We made it past all the snownados and now we get to live through Sharknados!

Well that was a heck of an introduction if I've ever seen one.. lets get our heads back on straight and talk a little serious for a minute. Usually this blog is very laid back, fun, and laughable; but I feel the need to talk seriously about this topic. April is the month of Earth Day and Harbor Day. These may seem like pointless days to some, but to us at Be-Near Music Camp it's a very important topic.

The people at Keep America Beautiful have a very important task that they have dedicated a lot of their time and energy to and we would just like to thank them for all they have done and continue to do for our planet. A few things that we have done to help do our part is to plant all new trees whenever old ones were taken down in, on, or around our park grounds. We want to continue the Eco-structure into the future of tomorrow!

Below we will post a link to their page so you can see all of the awesome things that Keep America Beautiful does.

And one more thing! Be-Near Music Camp now has a YouTube Page! Check out our first video there now! As usual, don't forget to follow us on Facebook and Twitter!

SALE! SALE! SALE!

http://bit.ly/1HEsBPg

In case the title might have been misleading, we're having a SALE! What this means is, we at Be-Near Music Camp are going to take things that we sell, and mark them down to a discounted price! This is quite different than "sales" that happen at other businesses. What this means is that this is the first sale of this kind EVER is history!

What do you have to sell at a music camp might you ask? Good question. Be-Near Music Camp gets old instruments, music stands, and even small pieces of furniture donated to us and the items that have lived to the fullest with us are able to find new homes where they can still be played and used. Just a few items we are selling are as follows: A clarinet, three different guitars, some drums and cymbals, and much MUCH more!

Prices will be cut 20%-50% depending on wear and what item it is. Prices starting as low as $59.99! Stop on down anytime this week to take advantage of the savings! Items not held and first come, first serve style sales. No refunds will be offered; all sales are final.

Now if that don't get your Chumbawamba Tubthumping, then I don't know what will!

Welcome to MySpace!

http://yhoo.it/1FLlvHY
Welcome back! Wow... did you lose weight? You look good! Does that boost make you feel better about yourself? Well that's how we feel after this week. This week the kids went back home to spent the week with their families. We do this every year because we feel that even though camp life and experiences are important, family is always number one. So, with this week off to gather our thoughts and ideas, we here at Be-Near Music Camp decided to go off the yellow brick road and try something a little unconventional. We spent this week looking into ways we can spread our message, music, and image around to people who would see it the most. We came up with this!

The Be-Near Music Camp officially announces our partnership with MySpace! You read that correctly, MySpace! Now, before you start judging, lets clear some predetermined opinions you think you might have about MySpace.

Q: How is MySpace that different Facebook, Twitter, etc;
A: MySpace was once the original Facebook! But once Facebook was released, it became a thing of the past. very quickly. And because of that, a very cool thing happened. MySpace became a very small group of people, but a very connected group of people. Because of this, the music industry decided to utilize this tight-knit market to advertise and offer their services to..

Q: Why chose a small, niche market to target when you're already on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Blogger?
A: Simply put, because we want to give more to our fans on a more personal level. By using MySpace, we can offer more to our friends and followers on this page compared to what we could using say Facebook or Twitter. This partnership is the best possible thing for you! Our fans!

Q: What do you plan on using this page for?
A: We want to post videos and audio recordings that our students do to this page! These kids have outstanding talent and we want the world to see it first hand! At the end of this blog posting, we will post a link to the MySpace page so you guys can add us and watch us grow!

I know this is a lot to handle, and can be a bit overwhelming, but this is information we felt was important to share with all of you! We hope that this way all of you will be able to keep up with our students performances.  Below is the link to the page!

Musicians Making Music!

This week we wanted to talk about the month of February and all of the events taking place. The 57th Annual Grammy's were held recently on February 8th and the performances sure didn't disappoint! Sam Smith cleaned up most of the biggest awards the show has to offer performers. Also some great artists took to the stage to sing some amazing songs and do what they do best!

Not only the Grammy's themselves, but a special tribute after was given to the incomparable Stevie Wonder! BeyoncĂ© and Ed Sheeran took to the stage in an amazing duet. These musical events that we watch every year are what we want our kids to see and aspire to be someday! (...Except maybe the Miley twerking part)

Be-Near Music Camp: Only the beginning

Welcome to the Be-Near Music Camp blog page! First and foremost, please note: "This blog is fake. It is being used for a social media marketing course." Please let me introduce myself. My name is Jamie Benear and I was born in Houston, Texas and currently live in the great state of Wisconsin and reside in Eau Claire. I have been involved in music in some way or another for most of my life, either with singing or playing instruments. I learned to play drums and the guitar in my high school years and have grown a lot in my knowledge over the years. I get a lot of enjoyment out of teaching others how to play instruments and coach them along!

Here at the Be-Near Music Camp, we want you to feel comfortable. Nothing is worse in learning than watching someone "shred" or "kill it" in front of someone just starting out. There will be an open atmosphere, and easy learning attitude with our camp. Our mission is for you to leave knowing the basics of the instrument of your choice! On behalf of our staff and myself, I hope you will "Be-Near" us soon!
